A dog’s body undergoes a lot of physical demands and stresses on a daily basis. Whether your dog is a puppy or enjoying it’s golden years, whether it is a family pet or a working dog, your dog can experience events both physical and mental that can challenge the normal limits of its body and mind.
A canine fitness program is designed to address and improve all five aspects of canine total health: Strength, Flexibility, Balance, Cardiorespiratory and Mental Endurance. The general goal of a fitness program is to encourage lifelong canine health through exercise. The specific goal is based on the dog’s life stage and their current fitness level.
The program involves an initial intake, evaluation and assessment. Based on these findings, an individual program will be created for your dog. Your first workout will be done in office so that you can learn the exercises and their proper form. After the first workout, you will be asked to continue the program at home with your dog for a designated time frame at which point you and your dog will come back in for a re-assessment. The program can involve the use of canine fitness equipment designed to work on the five aspects of total canine health.
